INVESTMENT PROJECT IN THE LARGEST SOLAR POWER PLANT IN UKRAINE

In November 2018, the opening ceremony of the first stage of the largest solar power plant in Ukraine with a total capacity of 65 MW was held in the city of Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia region.

The investor and organizer of the financing of the project for the construction of a solar power plant was the group ASTRA CAPITAL in partnership with the state-owned “Ukrgasbank”.

Ruslan Bozhko, the Managing Partner of the Investment Group ASTRA CAPITAL, noted that investments in alternative energy in Ukraine are a priority area of work. Over the next year, the company’s portfolio of implemented projects in alternative energy will exceed the capacity of 150 MW of clean energy.

160 thousand solar modules, 1670 inverters, 40 complete transformer substations of 0.4/10 Kv are installed at the power plant. More than 120 jobs have been created during the construction of the station. The power plant will provide electricity to 6 districts of the Zaporizhzhia region.

The Project of construction of a 65 MW solar power plant in the Zaporizhzhia region started in 2016, the planned completion date is 2019. The estimated cost of the project is 55.4 million euros, the annual revenue from the project is 10.5 million euros. Suppliers and contractors of the Project are both Ukrainian (Metinvest, MGT PRJSC, Odessakabel) and foreign companies (Risen, Talesun, Fronius). The project is aimed at the economic development of the Zaporizhzhia region at the expense of taxes and new jobs, at the development of the green energy sector of the region and Ukraine.

The project is being implemented through the subholding UKRAINE RENEWABLE ENERGY HOLDINGS UREH LIMITED (UREH).
